First off, let’s be clear: cellulite is an entirely normal thing.

Let’s be clear: cellulite is totally normal!

However, although it’s perfectly normal, most women will admit they’d like to see their orange peel skin look smoother.

At A Balanced Body we practice an incredible technique called Applied Tensegrity. With Applied Tensegrity we are treating the fascia (our connective tissue) and we are always looking to the skin for clues of where the restrictions lie, cellulite is one of those clues.

The appearance of cellulite is from pockets of fat pushing up through the connective tissue (our fascia), this happens when the fascia is tight and restricted. The fascia looks like layers of spider webs and when these spider webs are restricted they glue together and this binds the fat and creates the appearance of cellulite. Where the fascia is restricted there is also often swelling, inflammation, edema and congestion. Applied Tensegrity treats the fascia but it’s also a form of manual lymph drainage helping to ease a congested lymphatic system and decrease swelling. Yes please!

In these Applied Tensegrity Detox treatments we will target areas of cellulite and stimulate the lymphatic system, release adhesions and fascial restriction, increase circulation, decrease swelling in the tissue and improve the skins texture and appearance of cellulite, while we help heal the body. These sessions include a variety of fascial release techniques and tools plus a specially formulated massage blend that helps break up fatty deposits and stimulates the lymphatic system.

Fast facts about fascia:

Fascia connects all connective tissues (that means the muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and blood)

Fascia holds together the entire body.

There are four different kinds of fascia (structural, intersectoral, visceral, and spinal), but they’re all connected.

When it’s healthy, it’s flexible, supple, and it glides.
